Frequently Asked Questions

Anyone who is facing a possible prosecution for a motoring offence or who is seeking more detailed guidance on how to resolve a DVLA licence revocation problem. We do not advise anyone to use our DIY kits when a possible prison sentence could be imposed (not applicable in speeding/endorseable only offences) as anyone in this situation should seek professional representation.

Having your own solicitor to prepare your case and attend court with you is always recommended as opposed to dealing with your case on your own. However, we understand that you may not have the budget to pay for legal fees on top of the costs of fines and insurance increases etc. So, our DIY motoring law kits are better than you going it alone without any guidance or information in advance of your court hearing.

The Kits are detailed and you may not have the time or patience to read through all of the information we provide. For this reason, we have a number of “Do it Quick” Videos and Checklists to make it as easy as possible for you to get the most out of the Kit you have purchased without feeling like you are back at school in the process!

The kits are currently only available in English.

No. Our DIY kits are not recognised legal qualifications.

You may purchase the kit for the benefit of someone else but see our terms of use in relation to copyright and intellectual property rights.

Yes. At present there is no VAT payable on our DIY kits.

Payment can be made online on our website. You can utilise all credit and debit cards including American Express.

Your login provides 18 months access to the kit you have purchased. This may undergo updates if/when there are changes in the law and so if you intend to use your kit for multiple cases, we urge users to check the current version of the kit available online.

Unfortunately, no refunds are payable under any circumstances save for within the cancellation period.

Once you have paid for your DIY kit, you will be sent a user name and password to the email you used to purchase. You will then be able to login to our member site where you can access all of the information you need.

The DIY kits have been designed to cater for non-lawyers who do not have any legal know-how. They are written in plain English without the use of complicated language so they are easy to understand.

We have also produced some “Do It Quick” videos for each module of our DIY Kits  so you can skip the detailed explanations and either watch Jeanette explain things or you can use one of the checklists provided.

The DIY kits will not be suitable in helping to defend (plead Not Guilty) a case or to help you to spot flaws in a prosecution.

You should not use the kit if you are at risk of a prison sentence.

The kit is designed to enable you to absorb detailed advice quickly as I know you may have limited time to get up to speed. I have included ” “Do it quick” checklists and videos to make the process easier. You can learn at your pace and skip bits you may not need if not applicable to your own case.

Do you have a question that’s not answered here?

We are unable to answer case specific questions as this amounts to legal services that can only be provided via a regulated law firm.  DIY Motoring Law is not a regulated law firm. However, if you have a question about the kits themselves, payment or practicalities, you may contact us.
